Late April till the end of May
Trolling for trophy Stripers 28" or
greater - One fish per person.
At mid to late May, night bottom fishing
begins for Croakers (Hard Heads) and Sea
Trout.
June
Striper catch limit changes to 2 fish per
person 18" to 28" or 1 fish
28" or greater. This is when we start
light tackle fishing.
Night fishing continues for Hard Heads and
Trout.
Spot and Black Drum begin to show up
towards the end of the month.
July
Small Stripers 18" to 28".
Night fishing for Hard Heads and Trout
continues.
Bottom fishing for Flounder and Spot.
August
Small Stripers, Blue Fish, Spot, Mackerel,
Trout, Hard Heads, and Flounder.
Night fishing usually ends in early August
September
Small Stripers, Blues, Mackerel, Trout,
and Flounder.
Bottom fishing for Hard Heads and Spot is scarce.
October
In the first two weeks, small Stripers,
Trout, Blues, and Flounder.
In the third week, larger Stripers start
moving back in, Blues and Trout fishing is
usually still going strong as well.
November
Large Stripers, Trout, and Blues trolling.
Jigging for Trout and Blues can also be
very effective this time of the year.
December
Stripers trolling in Virginia.
